A few minutes ago Ashley called and told me that our friend Crystal passed away. She had been in a local hospice for the past couple of weeks, and her body finally succumbed to the cancer that was ravaging it. The world is a darker place today without Crystal in it – she had such a light, such a love of life, such vibrancy. Crystal loved butterflies, so the above photo is for her.
Cherish your loved ones today and always – you never know when life will turn your world upside down.
I’m so sorry to hear that. I’d been following her blog for a while since you had posted it here. From just the little I got to know about her from it she was a wonderful person.
Chris,
Thanks for your kind words. Even though I knew it was coming, I’m still in shock – it just doesn’t seem…real.
Sorry to hear this Jason. I guess this touches me more since we found out this past week that a mom of 7 in a homeschool group we’re a part of has a fast-acting cancer and the prognosis at the moment is not good. She’s just started chemo. Her name is Crystal as well. So, as I pray for our Crystal, I’ll pray for your Crystal’s family and friends. – Paul
pmradio,
Thanks for your kind words and your prayers. I’ll say a prayer for the Crystal in your life as well.
Jason my thought and prayers are with you and Crystals family. My wife has a sister that is currently going through her 2nd bought with this terrible disease. Hers is quickly spreading but we are staying hopeful.
My heart goes out to Crystals little one that will never get the chance to know its mom. 🙁
We will pray for Crystals family.

Eric,
Thank you for your support and prayers, and I’m sorry to hear about your wife’s sister – I’ll pray for her. I’m going to be spending the next couple of days helping to prepare things for Crystal’s funeral, which is on Sunday (which I’ll post about separately for friends and family who read this blog).
