Today the courier delivered to us perhaps the cutest shoes ever made! They’re from my uncle and aunt, who are far away in Phoenix, Arizona, and should fit Logan when he’s in the 16-20 month range…I’m tempted to put them on him now because they’re so adorable. 😉

Logan Dunn…One of Many
I decided to do a search for Logan Dunn in Google to see where his name ranked, and sure enough, this blog is the #1 result for those two terms. But there are a lot of other Logan Dunns out there – including that cool Lex Luthor-looking dude above. I wonder if it’s even possible to name your kid something unique? I guess Trogdor Dunn would be unique enough to qualify… 😉
Logan Dunn’s Birth Announcement
We’ve emailed this out to a bunch of friends and family, but if we missed anyone, here’s the original full-resolution image ready for printing (4×6 inch size).
A Mother’s Love
The Greatest Baby Shirt Ever Made: Level 1 Human
I used think that the “I’m a Boob Man” baby shirts were the height of baby-apparel humour, but the coolest “onesie” I’ve ever seen is pictured above, made by my brother Aaron. It’s perhaps the ultimate shirt for the son of an old-school pencil and paper RPG guy like myself. That’s the Neverwinter Nights font to boot, so extra geek cred for that. So cool! You’ll have to wait a year to level up Logan! My brother made some other great shirts that I’ll take pictures of soon.
Logan Robert Dunn, Birth to 48 Hours
I’ve finished processing all of the photos I took of Logan and the journey we’ve been through as a family in the first two days, and below are a few sample images – my baby is beautiful! From a photography perspective, I’m stunned at how superb the images turn out with my Nikon D300 and the 24-70 f/2.8 lens. That lens may be as heavy as a lead brick, but it’s worth carrying to get such beautiful photos. Now I just have to get to all those videos I took…and I hope regular readers of this blog will understand that for the next couple of weeks, I’m going to be talking a lot about little Mr. Logan Dunn.
Say Hello to Logan Robert Dunn
At 7:20 AM on August the 16th, Logan Robert Dunn came into this world via C-Section. Both mother and baby are doing well. He’s 20 inches long, weighs 7 pounds 9 ounces, and was born at the Calgary Foothills hospital. The staff here are great – special thanks to Dr. Paul Martyn for the great job he did on the surgery. This is a wonderful blessing, and I’m humbled and awed that God would give us such a beautiful baby to care for and raise.
Great Wedding Photos are Worth the Investment
That wedding I was at last weekend for my sister-in-law (and now brother-in-law). Their photographer has finished processing some of the photos, and has posted them to her blog. Here are three sample images:
Are those some great photos or what? My one and only regret from my wedding to Ashley back in 2001 was that I didn’t find the right kind of wedding photographer…meaning I was focused on not spending too much money, and not focused enough on getting real value for my dollar – and value in this case is having great photos that you’ll appreciate for years to come. I don’t have many regrets in my life, but this is one of them. So if you’re planning on getting married someday, take my advice: don’t skimp on the photographer. Spend the money to get someone good, someone who will take pictures of you all day/night long and really capture the wedding event. In ten years no one is going to remember how fancy the chair coverings were, or what your wedding cake looked like, but photos of you and your husband or wife are going to last forever.
