…you’d better be professional and deliver professional results. Over the past few days we’ve been putting the final pieces in place in a home renovation project, and I’m getting increasingly frustrated the more I discover about the errors one of our contractors made. There’s nothing worse than trusting someone to do a job for you and finding out that they cut corners, didn’t install what they said they’d installed, and generally rushed the project.   1. Not to be a jerk but did you do “due diligence” and check his references? I mean as you say it is the Internet Age and a little homework on a contractor can go a long way…

    I hear what you’re saying – in fact this person is a friend of my sister-in-laws, and has done acceptable work for us in the past, so I had no reservation about hiring him again. After this job though, I will not hire him again.
